What is Adlerian counselling?

Adlerian therapy, also known as Individual Psychology, is a holistic, psychodynamic approach to therapy developed by Alfred Adler at the beginning of 20th century. Adler saw humans as unique individuals and tried to understand and help them within their unique social context.

Adlerian counselling involves exploring this context, the beliefs and strategies we develop in life to survive, connect and avoid feeling inferior.

Some of these strategies may no longer serve us as well as they did before. However, the strengths we developed can be used to move forward in ways that would resonate with how we want to lead our life.
